I use inclusive gateways in my BPMN model. All the process flows which are going out from the opening inclusive gateway are arriving at the closing inclusive gateway. One of the flows is using a throwing and a catching link event to link to another process, which must be processed in this case. The guideline check is showing me a process structure warning: "Use a XOR gateway to merge exclusive alternative paths" (check rule 4.13)


The recommendation/warning is shown, because of the interruption in the process flow. Since our check applies for the current diagram only, it is checking neither the linkages to other processes nor the other process structure. So basically it looks like you have got an additional process flow arriving to the closing OR gate. To avoid this recommendation/warning you could simply use collapsed sub-process element:
